Allusions

  • Alien: When the queen ant's egg hatches, the larva pops out and attaches itself to Sprig's face. This references the alien facehuggers that attack the same way.
  • Dungeons & Dragons: Marcy's favorite tabletop game, Creatues and Caverns, is based on the fantasy role-playing board game.
  • Nintendo Switch: in the flashback, Marcy is seen playing on a console in similar style to the Nintendo Switch.
  • Dragon Quest 2: The cover of Marcy's favorite video game, Vagabondia Chronicles, is reminiscent of the Japanese cover of the second game in the Dragon Quest series, created by Enix (now Square-Enix).

Errors

  • Hop Pop puts on a sweater when his clothes get destroyed, but in the next shot, Hop Pop wears his usual clothes again.
