He is a sizeable amphibian with facial hair. He walks around with a gold cane and wears a gold ring with a ruby gem on his left hand. He wears a maroon coat lined with beige over a white shirt and a lilac scarf. For his lower apparel, he wears puffy pants reminiscent of medieval men's wear accompanied with dark brown boots. All of this portrays the clothing of an upper class frog.
He is rude, arrogant and greedy. He only thinks about money and himself, thinking that money is the solution to all of his problems and everybody else's problems. He loves being put in a pedestal and is selfish, arrogant, and self-centered about the frogs of Wartwood. He is very competitive and willing to do anything for the sake of his name and glory, he does not care if he ought to bribe somebody or sabotage something in order to win, he only wants fame and reputation. He often cheats out everyone for his own greedy desires and cares more about his image. He considers everyone, especially Anne and the Plantars, beneath him and is not afraid to openly voice his disdain for them. He is remarkably clever however and a quick plotter; loving to cash in on an opportunity when it falls in his lap.
He does show off a reasonably honorable side, however. He was willing to hold up his end of any deals or bargains that he took part in. He will also risk his life to protect and save the people of Wartwood as shown in "Anne of the Year" and "Reunion", though he admits it is for his own greedy benefit.

Behind the Scenes
Name and Basis
Mayor Toadstool’s last name is a reference to another name for a mushroom.
His large structure is also a point that he is a mayor.
Toadstool is voiced by Stephen Root, who was also the voice-actor for Bud Gleeful in the Disney Animated Series Gravity Falls and Finn's father Martin in the Cartoon Network series Adventure Time.
Toadstool made his debut in the series premiere, "Anne or Beast?".
- Toadstool is an oddity among his kind. His appearance is very different from other toads, lacking the red eyes and sharp teeth of most toads while also having larger eyes. He is also less aggressive than most toads and is less cunning, being more sly than anything.
- Mayor Toadstool considers himself a toad. Despite this, he is classified as a frog.
- He may have had connections to the toads of Toad Tower. By the events of "Reunion", he seems to have distanced himself from them.
